Endorsements and Referrals

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued guidelines requiring bloggers to “disclose material connections” for product or service endorsements.

I do not receive any compensation for reviewing or recommending any products (usually books, educational materials or web links) mentioned in this site.  If I provide a link to the product it’s because the product was helpful to me, personally. Views and Opinions

The views expressed by me on this site are not necessarily those held by anyone else, including (but not limited to):

  • my employer
  • the church I currently attend
  • the Bible Schools I’ve attended
  • the church that ordained me
  • my spouse
  • my children
  • any of my relatives

The views expressed by me on this site are a result of Bible study, sermons I’ve heard, books I’ve read, practical application of what I perceive to be Truth, observation (of myself and others), and meditation.  These views fall into two main categories:

  • Teachings: information found by me (in my estimation) to be Truth.  These Truths have proven to produce results in MY life… so why shouldn’t they work in anyone else’s life.
  • Opinions: not necessarily Truth.  My opinions may be based on supposition… may be totally off the wall… and are my opinions only… which sometimes coincide with the opinions of others (whom I may or may not know personally).

Your task will be to determine which of the above you are reading in any of my articles.

I’m Not at the Top… Yet

In my articles I (greatly) tend to point to the ideal.  I understand I am an idealist.  As such, I tend to strive for the ideal in any endeavor. Being a slave to idealism has actually held me back from accomplishing many things that I actually have talent for… such as playing the piano, becoming GREAT at the guitar, sketching, etc. I tend to see what could be and what should be, and because it isn’t that way at the beginning… or when I don’t achieve results quickly enough (for my satisfaction) I tend to give up.

The practical results from spiritual union with God, presented by Jesus in the gospels and by Paul in his epistles to the church, seem strike me differently. They continually entice me to strive for the utmost. Like Paul, I can say I have not reached the ultimate, but I continually press forward to learn, to put into practice, to learn from my mistakes, to observe, and to refine. In doing so I have been able to produce results far more consistently than I did (say) 10 years ago. I see no reason why that percentage of success shouldn’t continue to increase, as I continue to seek Him and learn from Him.
